FTR Minutes
We just upgraded to FTR Reporter version 5, what version of the FTR minutes works with this?
Reporter 5.6.2 reverting to LocalHost
Hi there. I recently patched our 7 courtrooms to Reporter 5.6.2. Since that time, Reporter has been reverting back to LocalHost after a day or more of inactivity. Not sure why this is happening. We have our computers set to restart automatically every night, including weekends, but every Monday in many of our courtrooms (possibly all of them, but it hasn't been reported as of yet), they must restart their computer, as the Reporter gets stuck on LocalHost, and then will not record, or archive to our network directory. Restarting always resolves it, but if staff is running late, this can delay court from starting. The location was set on install to the courtroom location, for instance "Courtroom A". Restarting brings it back to that location. On install, the Reporter was configured so that the location could not be manually changed. I have ensured that the network card is not falling asleep. I believe that if that was the case we would see it more often then just after a weekend. I'm stumped! Any help would be great!
Thank you!
FTR Player 5.6.2 MSI file
Dear all,
We encounter problems deploying the FTR Player to WIn7 with SCCM.
Is there a way I can get the MSI file instead of the .exe?
Many thanks in advance

Having to uninstall and reinstall new player every other day
Hi,
I am so frustrated. I am on Windows 7 premium. I installed the newest version of the player. I am an official and we use the whole system. Since I downloaded the latest player, though, about every 36-48 hours, It says "An error has occurred launching the open dialog.... please uninstall and reinstall TheRecord Player." I am trying to get a 1,000 page hearing out and this is NOT working for me.
Any ideas? Help please.

Error 1628
Please help!!!
I am getting an error when uninstalling FTR software
1628 failed to complete
i have been using the FTR software without any issues and then when i tried a new disc it didn't play when i put it in the disc drive. It loaded the disc and i could see the contents but when i click on one of them nothing happened.
So, I have tried uninstalling everything but it failed to take everything off and is throwing up the above error before it uninstalls. Needless to say i cannot reinstall until i get past this point. I have tried running as administrator and I saw a 1605 error (something about 1605 this is only vaild for programs that are currently installed)? I have tried a number of the fixes on various forums but nothing seems to work (registry deletions etc). All i need to do is to play some discs that i have received from the Court. Not sure i need all the software that i have installed below?
FTR the Record Manager V5.6.1.0

i am running windows 7 (64 bit) on a HP Elitebook 8460p
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. i'm ok but not too techy so please keep it fairly simple.
Thanks in advance

McAfee update doesn't like Player 5.5
We are having issues with the The Record Player 5.5. It appears a patch/software update was pushed down early last week that affected our court reporting software, mainly The Player. We are getting the same error from the antivirus software, McAfee, on all the computers that have The Player: "Host Intrusion Prevention Intruder Alert. Attack Suspicious Function Invocation." All computers are on a government network running Windows 7, 64-bit. We've contacted our "IT" people, and they don't have a solution. I have attached a screenshot of the alert.
Any information that we could relay to them in order to fix this problem? I realize that this is probably more of a network or McAfee issue than it is a Player issue, but maybe someone knows a workaround. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Playback is inadudiable
We are having an issue with the recorded sessions when we play them back.
The sound comes out garbled or it doesn't pick up the person sitting directly in front of the mics all the time.
What could be the cause of it?
Sound card updates? or FTR needs updated drivers?

In Court Playback of multiple pieces of audio
When you use FTR Monitor to do the In Court Playback option it only allows recordings "opened from a shared location or FTR Warehouse".
Is there any way around this?
Many of our judges don't want playback of material that was sealed, sidebars, sustained objections, etc, so we have to go through and redact by saving only the pieces that are allowed to be played. Thenn we reopen them in player for a single playback, but since those saves are no longer from the warehouse then it's not allowed to load into the In Court Playback module.
Any solutions/suggestions?
How can I make another CD from a file already archived?
We archived the file from our last day of court and saved it to a CD. Something is wrong with the CD and it's unusable. We've read the instruction manual and consuled the knowledge database, but can't find out to do this. Any help would be appreciated. We're using FTR 2. Thanks.

Unlinked
Only recently upgraded to Windows 8.2 and FTR Record Player worked fine until my computer did an update. Now when I attempt to open audio I receive a message that "The Record Player could not load the recording for playback (Ox80040256). There's an unlinked indicator on the player giving a message that "The recording loaded by The Record Player is not in the correct format to allow linking."
What am I supposed to do to correct this situation?

QUICK NOTES NOT VISIBLE IN FTR REPORTER 5.3
We are using FTR Reporter 5.3 and have often used Quick Notes as a handy function. For some reason, when we open it, there is no visual display on the screen - i'm thinking it's off screen and there is no ability to maximise it. Any suggestions woudl be appreciated?

Can you confirm if the RD2 using the replicator has been tested with windows 2012 server?

Pan Channels
Just upgraded from 3.3 and i'm trying to pan to the left or right of the channel with my mixer in recorder/player 5.6.2. It seems to work in a clean setup of 3.3 recorder I have, but maybe there is something I don't have setup in the new version correctly. I'm running Windows 7.
Thank you,
John

Hearing Tag Not Valid - TheRecord Manager
After our court reporter was done for the day, she exited out of Log Notes, and opened TheRecorder to do the conversion. Everything was normal, she was able to select the log notes file from that day and it recognized it correctly and showed the correct times for the file. On the last step when it tries to convert, it gives an error message: The hearing tag is not valid. Ensure tags are created using an FTR product and are not edited. (E0DAA2D4)
I have checked the hearing start tag, and the hearing stop tag and everything looks fine as far as I can tell. The court reporter did say she had to correct the case number which was in the Hearing Start tag, but only edited what was in between < > so that it looks like this:
11:07:28 AM <Hearing Start> <14-12345> MP3 file name - DO NOT EDIT THIS NOTE
11:18:07 AM <Hearing Stop>
The Hearing ID contains the case number in regular format like <14-12345> without any spaces before or after. This tag says not to edit, but from my understanding the case number can be edited if need be, which she did.
I don't know any way to correct this error so that it can be processed, any help or insight would be much appreciated.
There isn't any third party software interacting with the files, just FTR Reporter and LogNotes.
