Multiple Warehouse Servers One Database

I am currently configuring multiple warehouse servers and I would like to connect them to one database. It seems that when I configure the Warehouse name and folders that it changes the formerly configured warehouse servers attached to the same database to the most recent configuration. I am using different IP addresses for the servers. We are attemting to set up a Warehouse server per district. Is ther any way to accomplish this or do I need a seperate dtatbase for each warehouse server? Any help would be appreciated.

Change Installation Path for The Record Player?

I am trying to incorporate The Record Player into our VDI.

In order to make this work, I need to be able to change the default installation path, however I cannot find the right command to do so.

Is it possible to do this?

I need to be able to install The Record Player to each user's profile.

Is there also a way to specify the open file location in the install parameters?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul N.

Recording stops automatically then starts again about 20 seconds later

Hello I am new to this forum and also to FTR.  I am currently working on an issue where the recorder is recording then just pauses by itself.  It will then start recording again about 20 seconds later.  Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem?

Not all log notes have been saved to the network

We have just turned on the warehouse features, and are now getting an error message when closing Reporter. It reads "There appears to be a problem with the network. Not all log sheets have been saved to the network. They will be saved back to the network when log notes is restarted."

The .flstmp files are being created in the local user account temp folder, and the log note is also being created in the central archive location. When Reporter is closed the .flstmp files should disappear, and they are not.

I have attached a screenshot of the error message.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

DART TheRecord Replicator - Producer file location

We are having a problem with MP3 files being replicated to the wrong network storage location on DART after they are ingested from Flash cards with the Windows 7 version of DART.

Without publically disclosing our network shares I will refer to the network Share as Z:\

Windows XP replicator correctly places Public recordings in the network storage location under the

ISO Date Folder eg. Z:\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS, however

the Windows 7 install places the public recordings in the network storage location as Z:\Public\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS folder.

We do of course actively use the Z:\Sealed folder structure.

Win XP Producer is ingesting the files locally to c:\FTR Recordings\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS

Win 7 Producer is ingesting the files locally to c:\FTR Recordings\Public\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS

I suspect Replicator is simply replicating this issue onto the Network Storage.

The XML file for the job is placed in the correct place on the network storage Z:\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS (by the database/DARTApp) but the audio files and session files end up under Z:\Public\20140415\16214B-J-NDIS

DART search finds the ingested content and Player locates the content and plays it normally.  It is just not being placed in the correct location on Z:\

I understand that this is probably a vestage of Sealed vs Public classification in the COTS product however I need to know how to configure this not to happen in Windows 7 before we can remove the last Windows XP ingest machine from our environment.

I suspect the configuration of this information is contained in the newproducer.zip file that is applied during the build to patch patch producer correctly for the APH environment.

Can you advise on how to corrrect this issue?

Thanks

stop FTR Monitor from opening the first courtroom as soon as it opens

Is there a way to have FTR Monitor to not automatically select the first recorder in the list as soon as it opens?

For instance, I got a request to seal. I open player, find the audio, queue up the selection that needs to be sealed. Then I think I should check to see if the lognotes need to be sealed as well. So I open up FTR Monitor and as soon as it opens it loads up the first recorder that is in the My Recorders list and I loose the audio that I queued up. Rather annoying.

Even better, is there a way to have the My Recorders list reset each time you open Monitor? That way it is blank and I won't have this issue. PLUS it forces the Court Reporters to only choose the recorders they need for that day instead of just adding new recorders every day and amassing a list of 51 recorders and wasting network traffic.

Axis IP camera not connecting to FTR

I have a windows 7 box, I have an Axis P3346 IP camera with Firmware verison 5.20.  I have followed the step by step instructions as listed in article KB00226 and KB00225 and I cannot get FTR to communicate with the IP camera.  I can use the Axis software to see the video feed with audio so I know that the computer is talking with the IP camera.  FTR just fails to connect with the IP camera or recognize that it is there.  And from my understanding it should also recognize the audio from it but it does not.  I can hook up a microphone to the mic jack on my computer and FTR will see that but not the IP camera.

Another question I have is what the ONVIF URL for the AXIS camera is for trying it as an "unsupported" camera.  I could never get a clear answer on that.

If anyone knows what might be going on or how to resolve this issue please let me know!  Thanks.

Hi,

We have just deployed a bunch of Reporter 5.6.2 on Windows 7 machines, and a few of them just freezes in the middle of court recording. The computer did not freeze, it's the FTR reporter which freezes. We have to reboot the computer. Any suggestion please ? We don't think the computers went to hibernation.

Just upgraded from 3.3 and i'm trying to pan to the left or right of the channel with my mixer in recorder/player 5.6.2. It seems to work in a clean setup of 3.3 recorder I have, but maybe there is something I don't have setup in the new version correctly. I'm running Windows 7.

Thank you,

Unable to download The Record Player 5.4.2.0

I'm a legal transcriptionist with a new Acer computer with Windows 7.  I've used Windows 7 with FTR before and didn't have any trouble downloading the program.  However, that system crashed and I'm trying to get up and running with this new computer and cannot get the program to download.  The information I've been given is that I need the 5.4.2.0 version, but from what I recall I was using the FTR Gold.  I can't make any sense of any of the information on the download button.

I'm getting an error message that says Windows can't access the specified device, path, or file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, but I've obviously downloaded this program before.

Can anyone help?

ReporterDeck2 won't archive/copy to CD

Hi, just as the title says, client is no longer able to archive to CD. When they go to burn a certain recording to a CD, it asks to Insert CDR even though there's already a blank one in the machine. Even taking it out and putting it back in won't help.

Any ideas?

issue installing 5.6.2 player

I am trying to install the 5.6.2 player on a windows XP pc.

when I run the setup the setup process begins before prompting me with a message telling me that I first need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Client Web. I then click on install, it extracts the files and then begins the install process. I can see the progress bar moving but it just hangs there (I have left it running for an hour on a couple of pc's). I've tried this on a number of pc's now with similar results.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

FTR Player Locking Up during recording

$

Recently all our courtroom computers were swapped which included new hardware, and an upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit SP1. Previously, we had already upgraded our FTR version to 5.6.1 months before on 32 bit XP, and I had no reports of any problems, besides some issues I could attribute to aging hardware.

Since the upgrade of computers, I am getting almost daily reports of FTR player locking up, and or the computer freezing up entirely. These computers are about as beefy as you can get (i7-3770, 16GB RAM), and with multiple courtroom computers having problems, and none of the computers without FTR having problems, the only common denominator is FTR. None of the recording hardware changed during the upgrade, which is an Antex DMX-4 USB in each courtroom. Nothing seems to show up in the logs that can give me a lead on what is causing this issue.

I have seen various reports of lockup issues with player 5.6.1, so I upgraded them to 5.6.2 (just the player) and the issue still persists. Attached is a screenshot of the issue as it is happening cr3issue.png . I think the courtroom clerk said she rebooted when it first froze, and player locked up immediately again after trying to start recording again. As you can see, reporter is recording, the mixer device is working as it is detecting audio, but player is in a frozen state trying to load the current recording.

In a few other threads I've seen, the screensaver has been mentioned. We do have a screensaver timeout set, but many of these issues occur while the computer is actively being used. At first I thought the common thing was clerks who use compact view which basically docks the player into reporter, but some of the issues are happening at times like the screenshot when player was first being launched. Or I have a report of player was already in compact mode, and recording had been stopped, then things locked up when she tried to resume recording again.

So a couple things I would like to know. Any idea's to check what may be causing this, or narrow down a solution? Is there a way to stop player from launching when recording is started? Our courtrooms VERY rarely playback audio, so most of the time there is no need to have the playback window open also. I received the 5.6.2 update for reporter but am hesitant to change something else, when the issue seems to stem around player not reporter.

Thanks for any ideas or assistance.

Wireless Mic's

We have a few courtrooms that have a movable podium.  It currently has a wired mic on them.  As the podium gets moved around the wire is getting pinched, frayed, stepped on....  So I am trying to see if there is anyone that can recommend a wireless mic that is compatible with the FTR.

Thank You
