We have just finished upgrading all our assets to 5.4 with the Record Manager. We have daily occurences of FTR freezing in court and the court room changes to 'Local Host'. The user has full access to the network share. The service account has full administrative priveleges on our network share. It has been confirmed that the accounts are not locking out. Services show that they are all running. Restarting Replicator or all services does not remedy the issue. So far a reboot has been the only solution.

Player 5.5.0.0 Build 176 Fails to load audio after launching on link
Installing DART Broadcast Build on Win 7 Enterprise SP1 (SOE)
Player version is 5.5.0.0.Build 176
Used FTR Build script to install Broadcast Build on clean machine built into ParlTest.
Use DART web interface to successfully search content with player not already launched.
Click on link in DART
Player Launches and searches for the content.
Player finds the content and then begins "Loading"
at this point player freezes and goes non responsive. (Loading Freeze1)
If we close the non responsive player task (Loading Freeze2) and then launch player manually it researches the link it was sent earlier finds loads and can play normally the content. (Loading Freeze3)
If player is already loaded when a link is activated the content is found and loaded normally.(Loading Freeze4)
If we then close player and launch a link that has just been played the player sometimes works.
If we close the player and launch a link that was not previously played then the player goes non-responsive wile "Loading".(Loading Freeze5)
See the attached screenshots.
Can you provide any clues as to what is causing the player to lock up in this way.
We are having a number of issues relating to getting broadcast build working on Win 7 and need response under service contract.

DART FTR Monitor access denied to recorder

I think this issue is related to KB00021 DCOM security on FTR Monitor.
Testing DART Broadcast Build onto Win 7 Enterprise SP1 in ParlTest.
We are finding that FTR Monitor on the DART broadcast build cannot connect to the recorder.
Error message says:
Unable to connect to recorder. Access is denied 0x80070005.
Previously on XP this was related to Firewall blocking on Client machine.
We think this is a firewall issue as Win7 is more heavily locked down than XP was.
Firewall settings come from the Domain Policy and so need to be set in the domain policy for these machines.
What ports need to be open in Win 7 SP1 Enterprise to allow the required communication to occur between FTR monitor and the Recorders (TestDartEnc01)?

No playback from CD or file saved
I am trying to play an audio cd from my computer and it does not play any audio. I have also tried playing a previously saved .wav file and it has no sound. I know these have worked before. I updated to the new version 5.6.2 but then uninstalled it and re-installed version 5.4.2. It still did not work. My operating system is Windows 7. Not sure what to do next. We have the Reporter Deck 2.1 (FTR Gold). Please help!!

Windows 7 and Soundweb?
We are currently running FTR Gold 2.2 (on WinXP) with an Antex LX-44 card that is connected to a Soundweb 3088 signal processor. We need to upgrade to Windows 7 and FTR Reporter 5.5, but the Antex is not Win 7 compatible. We were hoping to find a internal card that is Win 7 compatible that we can just plug and play with the Soundweb. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I have looked at both the Delta-44 and the MAYA44e, and neither one appear to be plug and play with the Soundweb, and they both appear to be discontinued.

FTR 5.4 - Files exist in archive but not searchable
One of my users LogSheets were going to the wrong local folder so the archiving tool built into Recorder wasn't archiving the LogSheets. After manually copying the LogSheet into the archive folder we discovered that the files didn't show up when doing a search on the folder through LogNotes or Recorder. I've emailed back and forth with FTR on this and can't seem to get an answer so maybe someone on here can help me out...
1.) The user's profile has been repaired so new files going forward are working correctly with FTR 5.4's archiving process and those ARE showing up.
2.) Is there a place I can put the LogSheets they created before the fixing of their profile to allow the archiving process to add those files to the index?
3.) Would deleting ALL index files and allowing it to rebuild fix it?

FTR player seems to be deleted; cannot load new player
Have tried to download from FTR site, but downloading gets interrupted, and "click finish" and try again. How can I reinstall player? Windows 7 system. Thanks!

Playback Panel Freezes
When recording using FTR 5.6.1, the Playback Panel of The Record Player normally opens and allows the operator to monitor through the active listening feature. Just recently the Playback Panel freezes and does not allow the operator to verify that audio is being recorded. I've attempted to uninstall and reinstall the application however the issue still persists. Any suggestions?

FTR Log Notes not opening
Just recently upgraded our transcription computers and FTR. Unfortunately our computer guru did not check with our court reporter section prior to getting new computers. He purchased Dell latitude E6520 series laptops with no sound card installed, just integrated audio software. We then installed FTR version 5.5 onto the systems and whenever we attempt to run the program we get the following error:
"FTR Gold has been unable to connect to TheRecord Communicator. Linking is unavailable. Please resinstall. (0x80040154)"
If you click the okay button from there, the FTR panel opens up, but a new error box appears.
"An error has occured while creating APC host. The application will terminate. Restart the computer and try again. (0x80040562.)"
I am assuming this is related to the fact that we do not have a dedicated sound card in the computers. My question is simply can this be fixed by using a USB or PCMICA sound card? If so, does it matter which brand. We are trying to figure out the quickest way around this issue as our case files are now sitting collecting dust instead of being transcribed until we can get this software up and running again. Unfortunately going back to one or our old systems is not an option as they have already been turned in.

The Input Level Window option is not available in the view menu in FTR Reporter 5.5. What could cause this? The only options available are Record Time Window and Record level Window.

Error Using Foot Pedal with WMV file
I have a 2-hour .wmv audio file that is a court hearing. I do transcription from home and I use a foot pedal. If I let the audio file play through, it is fine. However, if I pause, stop, or FF or BW, I get an error message, which tells me to reload the content. It does not matter how many times I do, it still does the same thing. When converting the file to .mp3 or .wav, it only converts 6 minutes of the almost 2-hours.
Help. I'm desperate!

FTR Gold Error Message
Recently we are getting this error message when using FTR Gold:
A program file is missing or the registry is corrupt. Re-install the FTR program. (0xe001a021)
We've been using this program for over six years with no issues and then suddenly this is occurring. Any ideas? I reinstalled the FTR player and it worked fine again. Then we came in today and we are getting this message again, and the FTR player is missing again but the FTR monitor works and FTR log notes work.
Can you help?

Unable to create new log note. This log sheet is not associated...
I am testing changing the location name in a log sheet, I edited the location list and added a second location to the list. The first issue I encountered is the new location did not become available in the location drop down after created. I had to change the File/Tools/Option/Recording >> Location Name: to the newly created location before both were visible in the location drop down.
Second issue, I create a log sheet, enter a Description and left the location set to the default entry, then start recording. I enter a couple notes in the log sheet while recording, record for a minute, then stopped the recording. I opened a new log sheet, enter a Description and change the location (using the drop down) to my second location, but when I press record and try to enter log notes I receive an error.
Error: Unable to create a new log note. This log sheet is not associated with the Recorder or the recording that is open in the player. (0xe01da009)
I have tried closing the first log sheet before starting the recording, closing the player before starting recording, and linking the log sheet to the recording. So far everything I have tried doesn't seem to work, the first log sheet locations is the only one associated with the recording.
When I installed FTR Gold 5.6 I allowed for location changes.
Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated.

Monitoring Systems Error?
Hi, I have had some trouble using "TheRecord Player" software. I downloaded the player and during install received an error message saying that a monitoring system is running and that I needed to close it and then restart my program. I closed what I could and then tried to finish the install. The error message popped up again. I could not find anything else running that was a monitoring program. I clicked ok, and the install finished. When I opened the program and tried to play back one of the recordings I needed to listen to I got the following: "Could not load the recording for playback (0x80040154). I looked up the error message and it seems to be a monitoring error but I am at a loss as to what is running that could conflict with the Player.
I am not very technical minded and apologize if this is a relatively simple problem but I could really use some advice. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. I get the same "monitoring systems error".

I have removed all my old FTR files from my computer because I've been experiencing problems for
a few years. The instructions say to "Install recording card," and I don't know what that is. Anyone know?

Need help with my foot pedal...
I do transcription work from home and I just got a new file. I had no problem downloading the FTR software and getting my files to play, but I don't think my foot pedal is compatible with it. I currently use a VP-1 USB pedal http://www.vpedal.com/?page_id=1248. Has anyone used this foot pedal with FTR?

Installing error for FTP Player 5.62

Playback speed is not working
Hi,
I support technician at the Court, and we are in trouble on the button to accelerate or slow down the audio. When I change the speed, the audio continues normally, ie, does not change anything.
We performed the following procedures:
- Removed the FTR using Revo Uninstaller which removed to the records;
- Removed the FTR manually following the tutorial forum;
- We use version 5.6.0.0 and even upgrading to 5.6.2.0 the problem continues.
- The files played in the extension. TM does not work to change the speed, but the MP3 files usually work;
- The operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Has anyone had this problem and solved?
