We are using the 5.6 Mixer software to achive 8 channel recording, is there any problems with using the new Player 5.6.1 version with more than 4 channels?  Additionally we continue to have player freezing problems with the existing 5.6 player, has anything been corrected in the 5.6.1 version to resolve this?

Hello-

I purchased the player standard web download edition and have scoured the purchase page, the email receipt confirmation, and your website and found absolutely zero information about how I might actually download the application.

Please help.

Operating System: Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 Bit

Reporter 5.5.0.0 Build 176

S2A Utlity 1.0.0.0  38KB in Size

Becuase we are a Novell betwork, the replicator refuses to work for us, using 5.4 in the past we had to use FTR S2A Utility, which has been working for us.  But now with Reporter 5.5 and the updated S2A Utility from Oct of 2012, I get an error message when I click on convert to application button, you can see this in the screen shot, and for your convienence, the rest of the error in the Details section.

I have confirmed the removal of the logon account details in the archvie settings, and obviously logged in as the Administrator account.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Does anyone have seen this before?

Thanks

problem playing back

Hello, we are using TheRecord player 5.6.10 build 200. On multiple systems we cannot open up audio TRM files. The systems are running Windows 7, some 64bit other are 32 bit. Headphones are plugged in. I was told the audio TRM files were listenable before we upgraded to Windows 7. The previous systems were Windows XP. We have no plans of rolling back the OS. I notice on the CD's there's also a PME.exe along with a couple other files.

I've tried a couple ways to open the files.

1- click on Open, in the player, click on the E; drive (which is the cd/dvd drive)

I see a folder, but non of the audio TRM files appear.

2-I click on Open, and then go to other. I then see the files but when I go to open them I get an error message  "An unknown error has occured. (E0D1a027)" The details show

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xE097D001): No content files could be created from the specified files.
   at FTR.Interop.FoundationObjectInterfaces.ITREContentFileFactory.CreateContentFiles(Object[] RepositoryFiles, String typeFilter)

Stack:
   at FTR.Interop.FoundationObjectInterfaces.ITREContentFileFactory.CreateContentFiles(Object[] RepositoryFiles, String typeFilter)
   at c.j(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)

3- I've also tried dragging the files onto the player itself but get a error message "Could not load the recording for playback. No content files could be created from the specific files. (0xe097d001)

Can anyone please help? I know audio works fine because we can hear music mp3's and youtube audio.

Installation Error 1601

"The installer encountered error 1601: The Windows installer Service
could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in
safe mode or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed.
Contact your support personnel for assistance."

this is the issue, I have searched google up and down with fixes to this problem for hours, I have tried everything you can to restarting the service, reinstalling windows installer, editing the registery from a recommendation I heard that fixed others with the same error, plus numerous others, but to no avail.

I am just wondering if this is something I should pay FTR tech support to diagnose or if its something I should call Microsoft about, or just trying to repair XP itself through the Windows XP cd.

If this is a common problem with XP, please let me know any fixes that you can recommend to solve this issue.

This is IBM t30 laptop

Processor 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 RAM 1 GB DDR Hard Drive 40 GB Graphics Coprocessor ATI Radeon 7500

I have another IBM laptop with XP on it also that FTR works great on, so why is the first laptop having this issue?

Please and thanks!

I am trying to put 15 RD2 on the network 5 years after initial purchase.  I can configure ip address and ping it on a 1 pc network.  When I try to configure save to network and input the ip of the archive server I can't.  We have been using these as standalone and archiving to CD then immediately deleting recording.

How can I save recordings to the network from the RD2?

Thanks in advance

FTR Reporter time sync issues

Hi

I have an issue with the FTR Reporter application not syncing to the computer time. (see attachment)

When we check the Record Time against the computer time we have noticed that this can be upto 5 min out

Checking the four computers with this software has shown that the time can either be fast or slow compared to the computer time

The computer time is synced to a time clock on the internet and these computers have been checked and have the correct time

The usual method to resync these times is to restart the computers and ensure the time sync's back up

This does not appear to work 100% and is not practical in this situation

Unfortunately, I have been unable to check the initial set up because these computers are recording 24/7

Any suggestion on what to look for or how to resolve this issue would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Andrew

TheRecord Manager - The work item could not be created

$

Hi

I am using both TheRecord Payer and TheRecord Manager both at version 5.6.0.0 on a Windows 7 Enterprise

64bit machine.

The issue that I have is when trying to set the destination for the converted files

Saving file

1) Open the required file in TheRecod Player and select the time frame required

2) From the "Save Copy to" button we select "Start the Record Manager"

3) From TheRecord Manager we select Reformat

4) In the Open Content field we select the required file and next

5) Select file type and Destination - C:\dobbia01\Audio Files -  and then next

The next window is where encounter the error -

"The work item cannot be created. The path given is not supported (E0D3A006)"

Checks performed

a) I have checked file permissions for the location on the C:\ drive - all OK

B) Tried saving to a network drive - same error message

c) Used another PC - same issue

d) Had another user do the same process as above on my computer (with their own computer account) - same issue

e) Tried running ProcessMonitor to check for conflicts Email sent to client - none found

The quickest thing to stop this issue is to restart both TheRecord Player and TheRecord Manager.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this please let me know

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Will not archive to NAS

I have FTR reporter 5.2 loaded on a Windows XP machine and I cannot archive to a NAS that I have on my network. Although I can map to that NAS, I get a red X on the archive drive .  I have several Windows 7 machines with the same version of FTR reporter that can archive fine to that same drive.  Is it a XP issue?
