Hello everyone. We currently have two FTR Reporterdeck gold recorders (Model rd04cd02). I'm not fully familiar with these devices, so please forgive me if I'm not entirely accurate. This model runs Windows 2000 with a Novell Netware login. We had a "security consultant" temp employee edit a few things on our domain to try to boost security. One of the scripts that this employee ran was intended to delete any stray local accounts on PCs that accumulated over the years (most all of our stuff is on our domain now). However, this appears to have deleted the default "reporterdeck" user name that these recording devices used. I've recreated the local profile and think I can get the autologin with this profile fixed with some tweaking (the devices give an error that login could not be completed when powering on). However, I'm not quite familiar enough with the FTR equipment to know if any specific services or applications should be running on these at startup. I could get the front display working by manually starting FTRAppliance, so I'm assuming that had to run. However, the display shows that the recorder could not be started, so I'm assuming there are other applications or services that should be running. Could someone tell me what needs to run at startup, and also if there's anything I should know regarding this user account? We tried calling a vendor that worked with these things, but he essentially told us it's broke, buy a new one. However, these seem salvageable at least for a temporary solution since all it needs is that user account. We are planning to upgrade this soon, but until the funds are available, I want to try to see if we can get this one fixed until the funds are available for an upgrade....so please, no suggestions to upgrade. I know we need to.
